As An Anime Otaku…

Anime’s… the popular term for those Japanese’s film in forms of cartoons and of course, animated. These Anime’s were popular among young generations today. But what is it to us? Fans or Otaku in Japanese word, have their own reason why they admire the show… Let’s know the reason why…

First let’s start to those who don’t love Anime’s. Those who don’t like Anime’s, people who mostly love films acted by actors and actresses, hate the sense of artistic forms of Anime’s itself. They do say is corny or as it is defined as, there’s no good sense in it. Everyone has their own opinions, as for them, Anime’s are for kids to play, and to odd to follow and watch. They quickly judge the visual things about the film and from that they do not intend to continue watching it and of course, what do they care about it? They don’t want to understand it because in the first place, they don’t like the first part so they don’t care about the whole. Well, everyone’s way of appreciating things, varies.

Second, to those fans who became a fan because of popularity. Anime shows are just like any kind of film when it comes to popularity. However, some shows become famous for the gadgets shown in it, others for the game played in it, but mostly it becomes popular because of the new way of introducing it or its new set of story. At first, any given Anime would be introduced by means of commercials, after watching such very intriguing presentation, people becomes to wonder about it. Because of curiosity they watch it and there it starts. From then on, students will talked about that in schools, fans share something they do know about it but some just herd about that and there they start to become fan just because of popularity. Fans that became a fan just because of its popularity have their hidden reason why they act like that some because of (1.) the topic he/she wants to get in; (2.) just want to get in to the news; (3.) wants to be popular same to the anime; (4.) and some personal reasons. They never do get the real sense of the Anime. Behavior like this is hidden yet widely spread.

Third, to the character lovers. Our handsome characters in Anime make the Anime famous. The killer smile, the awesome eyes and his/her whole him/her, made some fans to be crazed. Just as they treat real persons around them, like some crushes but not as of love. They want to know more about that character but not as of the show. Sometimes, if they wish too, they also do search about the show. But the only main reason why because that character is a part of the show. Not the whole show.

Fourth, to the kids. Anime’s are for kids, as what they mostly say about it. At first Anime’s are made to entertain. And kids are those who need more entertainment though they don’t have very deep problems like ours. Our cute little fans, the kids, are very easy to catch. They imitate their own favorite characters; saying powerful spells that the characters do say, play like their favorite athlete, and also with the toys played in the Anime. Kids are not matured of course. They just keep entertaining themselves to anything they can see. Mostly, true Anime fans or lovers start from here.

Fifth, the Anime appreciator. Of course, there are peoples who love to know all sides of the world. They want to explore everything around them, they are mostly teen-agers. Those who explore mostly started to watch and learn from it. Anything that they can see that might happen to the real world, they take notes from that. Anime’s are just a part of it. They also do watch Anime’s and do appreciate it. And that’s the only reason why they watch it. But anyway, there’s nothing bad from it.

Sixth, The Anime lovers! Anime lovers, not only a fan but who wonders in the world of Anime, who lived to know the depths, to search for something unknown and to see the insights. Anime lovers mostly start admiring anime since childhood. Since childhood, they admire it but as they become mature they started to realize what another forms of Anime’s are. Anime’s meant for mature people. As they go along by time, they realized something about it, the hidden meaning of Anime’s which can never be seen by just a simply Anime fan. Something they learn that made them smile. Since then, for knowing that there are characters like them or there are things like their own lives, they started to know more about it. They appreciate it so much so it became a part of their lives.

Seventh, to the Anime Artist! Anime artist can be classified to many forms but let’s say a few information about them. Some Anime artist draws characters as their hobby, some because they admire what they created. Nevertheless, those Anime artists who are at the same time, Anime lovers, are the individuals who loved Anime’s the most. It was started when they are an Anime appreciator then a lover and because of the skill they do have, they try to draw. Artist, a follower of arts, tries to understand everything, everything behind a simple act. Anime plus Artist is someone who is just like the anime characters you’ve seen. Every piece of drawing they created has its own story. Story they treasure so much. Because Anime started them all along, and those who are dedicated, believed that there it should also end.

So there’s some of it. So here’s my side. I am once a little kid who draws oddly shapes and figures and do watch Anime shows. Due to my talent that is given to me, I started to develop it especially when a classmate of mine teases my work. Of course as a kid, I become mad. From then on I want to develop my skill much more than I do before. And still I continue to watch Anime’s. Watching it become my hobby, I laughed at it and sang with it. It gives me comfort when I was still a kid. It’s my best buddy when my friends are not around. Time came and here I am. A fifteen year-old girl, an Anime artist. I’m a bit popular at school for that, whenever they hear a word “Anime,” I’m the one whom they are looking at. And sometimes when it comes to drawing, I’m the one whom they are calling (I’m not that good in drawing but if in forms of Anime, that’s a different topic). Anime’s is my inspiration at start, of course until now… I’m beginning to mature and knew some depths inside, some reasons behind. I live to achieve my goal; I want to be an animator. A big part of my reason why I want to continue my life…
